The Riu Negril is getting a whole new look for winter 2024, with new restaurants, a redesigned pool area and swanky swim-up rooms.Riu Negril blends all the classic RIU calling cards – like lots of dining options and great entertainment – with authentic Jamaican touches, like jerk barbecues on the beach and steel drums music performances. You can look forward to direct access to a beautiful, white-sand beach.
This sweeping property’s laid out like a mini-village. Within the grounds, you’ll find four pools, including an adults-only option with a swim-up bar, as well as a mini slide pool for children. Five restaurants serve up steak through to Asian fare. There’s also watersports, a kids’ club, a spa and evening shows.

ROOMS:
All rooms come with a balcony or terrace, air-conditioning, a safety deposit box and an in-room drinks optic – meaning you’ll have your very own locally-branded spirits on tap in your room. Double rooms with garden views and sea views are also available. Family rooms come with 2 bedrooms and lounge area.
DOUBLE ROOM WITH BALCONY OR TERRACE:
These double rooms have a balcony or terrace. They come with air-conditioning, a ceiling fan, TV, Wi-Fi, minibar, shower, hairdryer, ironing facilities, and a safety deposit box. They can sleep up to 4 people with a king-size bed or 2 double beds, and an extra bed.
POOL:
Most of the action happens around the four palm-edged pools, one of which is just for grown-ups and fitted with a swim-up bar. There's a children’s paddling spot, as well. The kids' pool is set up with slides and fountains, plus a row of sunloungers at the water's edge where mums and dads can take a seat.
FOOD AND DRINK:
There are five restaurants to try out, including a steakhouse and an Asian eatery. Show-cooking stations are set up at the buffet place, where you can watch your food sizzle. You’ll find Caribbean must-tries like jerk chicken and pina colada cocktails on the menu at the beach bar, and you can tuck in to American classics at the sports bar of fill up with Mexican at Grill Pepes Food and Taco Station.
ENTERTAINMENT:
Nightly entertainment covers all angles, with everything from steel drum bands to tribute acts on the bill. In the lounge bar, you can catch singers crooning well in to the evening. Youngsters can get involved at the RiuLand kids' club, which puts on face-painting, games and arts and crafts.
SPORTS AND ACTIVITIES:
Snorkelling is the activity of choice here – even a short trip will have you mingling with coral-coloured starfish and speckled rays. Livelier watersports include kayaking and paddleboarding. There are also three pickleball courts if you fancy a game.
HEALTH AND BEAUTY:
Signature spa treatments* include just-for-two Swedish massages and hot-stone therapy. A couple of massage huts pop up on the beach, so treatments can be taken al fresco.
